Special Issue: Smart Geospatial Technologies and Spatial Data Analysis: AI, Remote Sensing and 3D Modelling for Environmental, Land Use and Urban Applications
Summary: This Special Issue focuses on recent advances in geospatial science, with particular emphasis on spatial data analysis, geospatial modelling, and GIS-based applications, integrating geodesy, remote sensing, and emerging artificial intelligence (AI) methods. The selected papers cover a broad spectrum of topics, including environmental monitoring, urban systems analysis, land use dynamics, spatial pattern detection, and advanced 3D modelling.
Special attention is given to the use of satellite remote sensing, mobile mapping technologies, machine learning, deep learning, and spatial statistics for analysing complex geospatial datasets. The issue also highlights current developments in AI-driven geospatial workflows, automated feature extraction, and data integration across multiple spatial scales.
By combining methodological innovations with real-world applications, this Special Issue demonstrates the increasing importance of geospatial technologies in environmental assessment, infrastructure planning, risk analysis, and decision support systems, supporting sustainable development and smart urban and regional management.
