Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania) together with 11 other partners involved in the Erasmus+ project "Management and Technologies of Water, Waste Water, Waste and Circular Economy WWW&CE“. Project lead partner – Hanse-Parlament, Germany.
The main aim of the project is to increase the number of highly qualified professionals and strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs in the sectors of water, wastewater, waste and circular economy.
We implemented and realized during the project together with the partners the long-term cooperation between educational and economic actors. Project partners were responsible for the development and implementation of a training programme for owners, managers and qualified workers of SMEs with study courses on management and technologies in water, waste water and waste management including cradle to cradle. The trainings were specifically tailored to SME needs and different qualification levels and combine the transfer of technical, professional and management know-how. Vilnius Gediminas Technical University is working with the development of three study modules for higher education on technologies in water, waste water, waste and circular economy, which will be integrated into existing Bachelor degree programmes.

Nowadays the biggest bottleneck is the significant skills shortage in many economic sectors like this is also in the environmental sector of Water, Waste Water, Waste and Circular Economy. Through cooperation between project partners and educational activities we will strive to eliminate bottlenecks and create conditions for further growth in innovative market segments. Thus, the project partnership develops tools according to work-based learning principles that are piloted and evaluated and later available for everyone’s use.
